MY FIRST EDITORIAL SHOOT

So last December 29, 2012 I had to Style a photo shoot for my Styling class; which involved as my final project. ( by the way, this wasn't part of any magazine whatsoever it's my final project for that class.)  This is my FIRST TIME to hire a model, a  make-up artist, and a photographer. Oh my, can I tell you it wasn't easy to find them! Luckily I have a friend who uses her modeling skills as a side job. THANK YOU SO MUCH BIANCA! I owe you a lot. I got the photographers and  the make-up artist through Bianca, without her I don't know what I would do.

This project has to be an editorial shoot, just like the ones you see in magazines and we had to have 7 or more pages in total. One serves as our spread page, the next one would be a  picture and so on and so fourth. After that we had to stick it in a 1/8 illustration board to present in class.

BEHIND THE SCENES

That's me  in the green Blouse :)

Bianca working her thang! :
posing :)
trying some effects with the white shirt :)

We had a theme and it was Christmas ( speaking of Christmas you think of lights, happy, red, etc) so we shot it at Trinoma, somewhere in the mall that not most people actually visit or go to. I didn't even ask the mall for  a permit because I know it's a public place but I learned in the end that I had too. hehehe. Thank God the guard didn't really stop us from shooting or else we're dead! Since we had no plan B only plan A.

FINAL PHOTOS

Something formal
An early lunch with friends outfit
date with someone special kind of outfit
time to party kind of outfit!

That white thing you saw was a t-shirt; we had to do something with it and we thought about using it as a cape. Didn't really think out of the box but I liked how it turned out.  Maiden holiday was the name that we chose because during this season we often go to parties and this is the time to dress up and have fun!

SAY HI TO THE TEAM!!!

Special thanks to the people who made these possible:

PHOTOGRAPHERS:
Jay Jobilo
Symon Arce
Diojep Ortega

MODEL:  Bianca Rafanan
MAKE-UP ARTIST: Ricky Estanol
STYLISTS: Raffi Alcantara & Kristel Chua
WARDROBE: Raffi Alcantara ( their all my clothes ) hehe
LOCATION: Trinoma

Also I would like to thank Mr. & Mrs. Rafanan for allowing Bianca! THANK YOU!!

This was definitely a fun day! Always wanted to have a photo shoot and dress up a model, hoping to do this more often. It was a learning experience for me that I won't ever forget. This was  something so stressful yet fun at the same time!

  3. Congratulations on such a professional looking job! What exactly is an "editorial" shoot? What is its main aim? What are you editorializing about?

    1. "editorial shoot" meaning it will come out of a magazine. But this was just a project I had for my Styling class. Well the aim for this shoot is for us to learn and to be able to capture the "readers" attention if ever we were working for a magazine. We were editorializing about Christmas, what to wear during the holidays. :)
